Safety and Quality Standards.
As Egypt's trusted DMC for safety-critical operations, Discovery Tours Egypt maintains quality standards in compliance with Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities regulations. All vehicles are inspected, all drivers are licensed, and all guides hold official Egyptologist credentials--maintained through documented standards, regular audits, and operational discipline across our 5 operational regions.
Core Safety Standards.
Our safety framework covers vehicles, drivers, guides, suppliers, and emergency protocols. Standards based on industry best practices and Egyptian tourism regulations.
Vehicle Safety Standards
All vehicles: functioning seatbelts (enforced), air conditioning, first aid kits, fire extinguishers. Average fleet age <3 years. Monthly mechanical inspections documented.
Driver Certification & Hours
Drivers: valid commercial license, clean driving record (verified annually), tourism industry experience minimum 3 years. Working hours regulated--max 8 hours driving per day, mandatory rest periods.
Guide Licensing
Guides: Ministry of Tourism licensed Egyptologists only. No unlicensed guides used. Language proficiency tested. Background checks completed before assignment to international groups.
Supplier Vetting Process
Hotels, restaurants, Nile vessels: pre-inspected for safety (fire exits, emergency protocols), cleanliness, and service standards. Annual re-inspections. Suppliers removed for non-compliance.
Emergency Medical Protocols
Guides trained in basic first aid. Direct relationships with private hospitals in core coverage areas (Cairo, Luxor, Red Sea including Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh). 24/7 medical coordinator hotline.
Insurance Coverage
Comprehensive liability insurance for all operations. Vehicle insurance (third-party and comprehensive). Professional indemnity coverage. Guest travel insurance coordination when required.
ISO Certification & Quality Management.
International standards verify our safety and quality management systems through independent third-party audits.

Audit & Compliance Process
Annual external audits by accredited certification bodies. Internal audits quarterly. Non-conformances tracked and resolved. Corrective action process documented. Management review meetings held bi-annually.
Note: While ISO certifications are not mandatory for Egyptian DMCs, we maintain these standards voluntarily to demonstrate our commitment to international safety and quality benchmarks. Certification documents available for review by prospective partners.
